and new nails installed |

before growth of mold begins |
| Why are roofing prices so high |
One word, insurance. Reputable Roofing Contractors carry Workers
Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Insurance. A lack of
any one of these insurances exposes the customer to potential
lawsuits |
| How many layers of roofing can I have on my roof ? |
Most local codes permit up to (3) three layers of roofing material.
However, we do not recommend this due to the weight put on the
structure, and higher cost of removing three layers vs. two layers |
| Why does my roof have snow and ice build-up at the eaves? |
This is commonly known as "ice damming". The way to correct
this situation is to install heat cable at the eaves. To prevent
damage or water leaks caused by ice damming, install ice and
water shield at eaves and possibly rakes |
What are the advantages of removing my existing roof vs. an
overlay of a new roof? |
1) Laying over existing shingles has a greater tendency to
reveal the unevenness of the surface over which they are applied.
2) When your roof is removed,
your decking can be inspected for possible water damage, inadequate
ventilation, or other problems.
3) The more layers of shingles you add, the more weight you
add to your structure that it may or may not be able to support |
| What is Ice and Water Shield? |
Ice and Water Shield is a specially designed flashing membrane
which is used as an underlayment to resist the leakage of shingle
roofs due to ice damming. |
